I was hoping to find more pictures of Ialoveni as my fiancee is from there and lives in Chisinau. From what I hear from her it is a beautiful and wonderful town. Her family still live there. I enjoyed your descriptions and comments.

So far, I haven't eaten out (well, one cup of coffee at a cafe, and honestly, it didn't occur to me to think about the water, but now I will!). My host family just bought this week an electric teapot, and before that we just boiled water on the stove. We also have an electric teapot in our class "lounge" for tea or coffee on our breaks. So far, no water-related illnesses have been reported by anyone in our group!

You sound so excited. I am happy for you that you live with nice people and enjoy cooking with grandma. Can you give me a recipe that I could use with vegetables and spices from Moldova? The weather here is cold now. I expect it will get cold there soon too. I enjoy your jounals, thanks. Love you.

Do you have to be careful of drinking coffee or tea in public restaurants, or do you assume that the water is boiled and thus safe? Have you seen any electic tea pots in a store. We bought one every time we went to Armenia and loved it (we gave them away when we left). They would boil a pot of water in 3-4 minutes. But some had automatic shut offs and did not boil the water for long, or as long as recommended.
